RE: Additional components?

Jon, from the discussions I've had with the "major" players, expanding
the standard component set is a high priority, with special attention
given to Ajax support.

As far as any extra components, Ryan Lubke and I have been working on
such a component set associated with the RI (it's in the same source
tree) but separate from standard set in the RI "sandbox." If I may
allowed to push my own blog, you can get information on what's in the
sandbox here from the following links:

http://blogs.steeplesoft.com/2006/05/25/yahoo-ui-meets-javaserver-faces/

http://blogs.steeplesoft.com/2007/01/11/jsf-ri-sandbox-filedownload-comp
onent-changes/

I'm including all of those links, not to drive up my hit count, but to
give you a more complete picture of things. :P Given that this *is* a
sandbox, there's still a bit of flux in terms of API, but everything
should be fairly usable. The download and multi-file upload components
have a pretty stable API and are used in production here at IEC in a
handful of apps, so you should have pretty good luck using those
particular components. The documentation, I'll admit is pretty lacking.
Right now, the sandbox is mostly a one man effort, and I have a "real"
job that keeps me pretty busy. The best thing I can offer at the moment
are the javadocs, tlddocs, and I'll throw in a sneak peak at the Sandbox
page:

https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/sandbox/

which, right now, is a snapshot of the tlddocs.

If any of the components look useful, please feel free to ask here (or
on IRC, as I'm there some, though work keeps my busy some during the day
:), and I'll help where I can, and, if you end using any of these, I'd
love to hear about your experiences and any areas you think the
component set could be improved.

I hope that helps... :)
