RE: Facelets Maintenance

Hi Jan,

If the "official" facelets project is to be phased out, then I don't think another release should be a priority, as it would be a waste of precious time and effort of everyone involved.

What I think is important is to let users know what is going on, so they know what to expect from the current release and upgrade to JSF 2.0 as soon as possible (hopefully soon).

I'm already running on my own patched facelets so I'm covered with the bugs I think are serious. I am however worried because my fixes haven't been reviewed by the authors and they might suck.

Thanks,

José

Hmm, I've sent a reply to the Facelets list, but apparently it didn't
reach you. This was my original message:

"Facelets has been ported into both the RI and MyFaces codebases. Those
two codebases will evolve separately from each other and from the
"real" Facelets codebase.
What will happen with the "real" Facelets codebase? I don't know."

So I agree with Kito. You might be lucky if there is another release,
but I don't think so.

You could also try to contact Jacob Hookom to become committer for
Facelets and fix the issues and create a release yourself.

Regards,
Jan-kees
