This is an excellent way forward. Please don't hesitate to ask if there is something the community to do in order to help.
We will of course help spread the word anyway.

With the impending shutdown of java.net, we've been working internally
to get all the required approvals, develop migration tools and processes,
and plan for the migration off of java.net.  I'm happy to finally be
able to announce that Java EE is moving to GitHub!

You'll soon find all of our Java EE projects under the "javaee"
organization at GitHub:

https://github.com/javaee
https://javaee.github.io

Migrating our projects is a huge amount of work and you should expect
some rough edges and bumps along the way.  I'll provide more information
as work progresses.

One of the big open issues is what to do with mailing lists.  There
are some legal issues we're working to resolve before we can announce
our plan for mailing lists.  We're optimistic that these issues will
be resolved soon.  I'll let you know as soon as we have a decision.

We expect some turbulence so fasten your seat belts, but I'm sure you'll
enjoy our final destination!
