Thanks for sharing this. I may ask Jürgen (he once used to be EG Member or
even "co Spec Lead" of JSR-330[?]) and others speaking at Java2Days and
Cloud2Days in Sofia about it, but I doubt, there's serious interest from
vmware.

With regards to creation ballot, it has been timed to allow the next EC
following the elections to vote for it. There are to be honest far more
important parts for EE(7) that haven't even been filed yet, e.g. JSON, than
this. A Batch process normally won't run inside an Enterprise container,
it's nature is more like a scheduled standalone process. So if there was
any connection, maybe with things like the @Schedule annotation and related
technologies triggering a batch, but those do not seem a key item for EE7
at the moment, nor is it likely they would have to change in order to start
a batch process defined by this new JSR.
