Obviously we don't want three different approaches to defining the
"deployment stage". I think we'd like to see requirements for what
people want such a feature to do so we can decide where and how to
provide it.

We're hoping to do it for EE 7, although the internal approval process is
taking longer than expected.

The first JSON JSR probably won't be able to address data binding, although
we hope that can be dealt with in a follow-on JSR. We're still trying to
reconcile what we'd like to do with the resources we have to do it.
