Arjan/all,
Thanks for the reply. No worries about github.com/javaee-security-spec,
that has nothing to do with Oracle or the java.net shutdown. Only
each individual Spec Lead did this (similar for MVC or JSON-P, etc.) and
e.g. MVC is in a much bigger pickle
https://ozark.java.net/ is likely going
away, but e.g.
https://github.com/spericas/ozark.git should be safe.
You, David and Alex are owners of the javaee-security-spec organization.
Every owner could in theory do "stupid" things like deleting everything,
but GitHub is not under Oracle's control, so only something like a false
"copyright" claim by the WURFL company caused GitHub to delete a repository
we had at OpenDDR once (it was recreated and the project now lives
piecefully under Apache DeviceMap;-) If Oracle claimed, a GitHub orga or
project violated its rights, the could ask GitHub to close it but otherwise
they cannot trigger that. And what we know about Alex and other Spec Leads
there they are victims or "pawns" in "Larry's Chess Game" but many of them
would rather do Open Source if they could, but that's not always up to you
to decice (and some leave, take Reza or Gerrit as recent examples;-)
So please let's not do further forks or clones, we already have too many of
them.
Thanks,
Werner
