Man, you have a good memory Jeanfrancois :) I forgot all about that.
I'll get on it now. This bug (the "/" servlet context) was present in the first release of 1.9.8. Then It was fixed when I first reported it, and the first 1.9.9 also worked with a root context properly.. Its re-appeared in a recent update somehow as I have just tried it with the version I got from the repo.

"/" is special but you are saying if you add:
"/"
"/a"
"/b"
a and b aren't mapped?
