You've got it right on. The module name is javaserver-faces-sources and
the cvs tag is JSF_1_2_12_B10
So you'd say
cvs.exe -d :pserver:[java.net userid]@cvs.dev.java.net:/cvs checkout -r JSF_1_2_12_B01 javaserverfaces-sources
