Make sure that the render and execute element IDs are space-separated. I think the example might have them comma-separated.

Was trying the editText example (http://weblogs.java.net/blog/driscoll/archive/2008/11/another_jsf_20_1.html) with latest nightly build (https://javaserverfaces.dev.java.net/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=9814&expandFolder=9814&folderID=1703).

The editLink element is NOT getting re-rendered as it should have been.

In order to debug a little, took a local copy of jsf.js and started referring to that. With little debug messages it appears that the response XML is coming empty and it's failing at "if (xml.firstChild.tagName === "parsererror")" statement (not that it's getting the 'parsererror' tag but xml dom is not valid.)


Any clue ?
