We do support use of an external JSF component library like PrimeFaces from a
Web Application Bundle. We have a test case available for this which you can
checkout from [1] to see. I remember we have an outstanding issue about using
CDI and and PrimeFaces from a WAB, but fortunately there is an easy work
around for this as described in [2]. Looks like you need that work around.
