your really help me to understand better what's happened here. I also agree
with your conclusion,
but just to explain to you the reason I tried to have it working like this in
glassfish, was because the application is supposed to run on Tomcat, Weblogic
and Glassfish, so it would have been good to be able to keep one packaging
type as unfortunately Weblogic and Tomcat does not support WAB deployment.
