Instances setup

Helo,

I've a few questions about Glassfish in production.

I've tested and stressed our application to my best in our dev environment,
with a cluster setup, which means the application is 'cluster ready'. But in
out production environment we aren't going to cluster it (at least not at
this time, but in the future depending on the overall performance of the
system in production). Right now I'm writing the production plan for the
system, and in the giving scenario, a single instace with the possibility to
cluster our Glassfish in the future, I wonder if I should use a
standalone-instance or a local-instance to deploy the application, even if
the local-instance will be a single instance in the cluster?

Deploying it directly to the domain server is also a possibility? I think
that sounds like a bad practice, but I've searched for any information
regarding those deployment options and I didn't find much material.

If those questions are well documented somewhere and you can please point me
to, I would appreciate it very much.

Thanks,

Rudi
