You are using
message = consumer.receiveNoWait();
try receive with timeout for it sounds like you are using a standalone
GlassFish server where EMBEDDED JMS service mode uses DIRECT method calls to
broker to carry out JMS operations, whereas REMOTE JMS service mode uses TCP
to communicate with broker for JMS operations.
