I followed the link and did the steps. On pinging i get the same error
Ping failed Exception - Connection could not be allocated because: The TCP/IP connection to the host sun, port 1433 has failed. Error: "Malformed reply from SOCKS server. Verify the connection properties, check that an instance of SQL Server is running on the host and accepting TCP/IP connections at the port, and that no firewall is blocking TCP connections to the port.". Please check the server.log for more details.
But the prob is not with SQL server because SUN App server installed on the same machine is able to connect to SQL server and return results.
Please help.
