I never managed to make EJBContainer.createEJBContainer() work, and I could not find any usable documentation for it.
However, the native Embedded Glassfish API is more or less well documented in http://dlc.sun.com/pdf/821-1208/821-1208.pdf, and I'm using it for all my EJB and web app integration tests.
Some helper classes and example code for writing integration tests with Embedded Glassfish are published in http://code.google.com/p/jeeunit/.
