For 3.0.1 and current 3.1 which is under active development, the out-of-box configuration is without having to authenticate.
The default user name is "admin" and there is no password needed.
However, you shouldn't even see this login screen at all. It should bypass it. Probably some issue in the environment.
Do you notice any error or exception in glassfish/domains/domain1/config/server.log ?
