Yeah, I had read that thread and tried clearing out all the resources but it did not help.
Also, I am testing this on a newly set up server with a different URL from the Glassfish 2.1 server so I don't think web start should find anything cached but I cleared everything out anyway.
This is on "GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3.0.1 (build 22)".
