You'll notice that the write-up describes that the DTDs will be accessible at http://glassfish.org/dtds -- but they are not there yet.

The glassfish-*.dtds that have been implemented are packaged with GlassFish in the lib/dtds directory.

And yes, the sun-* descriptors and DTDs will continue to work.
