I found the issue.
When I downloaded java_ee_sdk-6u1-unix.sh to my laptop (Windows XP), I checked the byte count. Byte count is correct at 72700196.
Then I would upload java_ee_sdk-6u1-unix.sh to my RHEL 5.4 server using WinSCP. Seems I was losing some bits and bytes on upload. Byte count varied each upload attempt by a few bytes. Not good.
So I turned to Secure SSH Shell. Used this product to upload to the RHEL 5.4 server. Checked the byte count. Matched. Launched java_ee_sdk-6-unix.sh and completed a successful install, configuration, and deployment.
