I'm having the same problem.
My /etc/hostname was set to "jet". Then the glassfish installation failed.
When I changed /etc/hostname to "localhost", the glassfish installation worked.
However, shouldn't hostname should be set to the real name of the server? (i.e. "jet") Hostname is used by other services.
