Hi Anil, Thanks for clarifying.
What you have done is not a supported scenario.
Between promoted v3 builds, one needs to do the update through update tool.
From Prelude to current promoted v3 builds, i am sure you HAVE TO use upgrade tool.
From Preview to current promoted v3 builds, i am not sure if upgradetool is required or if updatetool can do the job. I need to find out.

I don't mind looking into this scenario, but the problem is i cannot reproduce that myself on different platform. Besides, since this is not supported, it is very low on my to-do list.
