Sorry, if it's a "known bug", a link to the bug report would be rather helpful, but I don't see anything more than a suggestion to file one in that thread...

This client is running standalone, not in another appserver or another instance of Glassfish.
It is set up in accordance with the instuctions at https://glassfish.dev.java.net/javaee5/ejb/EJB_FAQ.html#StandaloneRemoteEJB
