BTW,
I changed the databaseName value to 'joomla' from 'test'
I understand now about the template being in the directory structure and I
look at it and added this line to my domain.xml file:
 <property name="url" value="jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/joomla"/>

I still get the error:
Database Error: Unable to connect to the database:The MySQL adapter "mysql"
is not available.
