Sending and receiving SOAP messages

Hello all.

I want to try out Glassfish but I am new to this application server, so I have some basic questions. (I don’t know if this is the right thread to ask this, so if it is not, I apologize.)

I have looked at the METRO, WSIT project, it looks to me that this is what I am looking for. But is this all that I need to receive, process, and send back SOAP messages, or do I need a HTTP server like Sun Java System Web server, Tomcat or so on? (I know that SOAP messages use the HTTP/S protocol...) I know that Apache Axis have the stand alone feature, but does METRO have the same feature?

I want the server/system to be as thin as possible, and I do not have the need of a web server another than send and receive SOAP messages.

Thank you for answer in advantages.
