Just for information, the same question was discussed on the Oracle Toplink's forum: Thread: "TL 11g: JPA and DB proxy authentication", http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=2437308. No working solution was provided.

It seems, I have to use Spring instead of EJB :-( . App-user's identity propagation to database is "must-have" requirement.
