We had added the clear() method to MappedPropertyDescriptor in an effort to fix a WebappClassLoader memory leak.
We had added this method to MappedPropertyDescriptor in the version of commons-beanutils that ships as a binary dependency with GlassFish (which also has com.sun prepended to the org.apache.commons.beanutils package name).
