What I'm saying (sorry if it wasn't as clear) that starting with Sun Application Server 8, Sun App Server and the J2EE RI of the appropriate version have the same code. It wasn't the case for J2EE 1.3, where SunOne Application Server 7 implemented the spec but wasn't the RI. The examples from the J2EE 1.3 Tutorial should run on SunOne Application Server 7, but the setup can be different.
