If that doesn't work (in the past it used to not work across the same version of the app server, like during beta -- so I don't know if actually works now), then an easy, not guaranteed but LIKELY to work technique is you simply back up your domain, load the new server, and restore the domain in the new server.
If your domain is already outside of the Glassfish tree (the default domain1 is in $glassfish/domains/domain1), then you probably don't have to do anything other than upgrading the app server.
This assumes that you're upgrading from 2.x, not 1.x.
