Here's a link describing how to setup a 2 machine glassfish cluster with one DAS:
http://blog.augmentedfragments.com/2007/11/project-part-2-glassfish-cluster.html
Once I get some time, I'll write the next few parts in that series which explain how to use Sun Java System Web Server 7 as a load balancer for the cluster with SSL configured so that the admin GUI on the DAS can control the load balancer and auto-deploy load balancer configuration changes.
Until then, here's another link:
http://blogs.sun.com/Prashanth/entry/setting_up_load_balancing_in
That was my guide, though it didn't work out of the box for me and I had to figure out a few quirks. Prashanth recommends using the SJSAS 9 installer to install the load balancer plugin for glassfish. If you do that, you will need to download the SJSAS 9 with HADB installer, as the normal installer does not have the load balancer plugin. I would not recommend using the installer, as I didn't get it to work and I didn't like where it installed the plugin. Instead, I would recommend manually installing the plugin, which (again) I'll have in an upcoming blog, but for the time being you can get an idea how to do at:
http://blogs.sun.com/pjjairath/entry/installing_and_configuring_glassfish_http
A couple side notes:
The glassfish website says that the officially promoted load balancer is SJSWS 6.1. However, SJSWS 7 works very well, and was not configured any differently than 6.1. Version 7 also has a much nicer admin GUI than 6.1.
Hope that helps!
