Container Question

I know normally a backing/managed bean in the web container (e.g. war in an ear) is able to inject an EJB, however...

If I have a Web application running a quartz listener would the quartz job then be able to inject an EJB into the listener class (where execute() would reside.

Not sure if my question makes sense, however the JEE5 timer doesn't work quite in the way I want it to (like a job scheduler).
