Re: GlassFish v2 UR plans

Hi Legolas,

I can't find a Sun JDK for System Z, but there should be an IBM jdk for it.

AIX support for Glassfish is planned for V2UR, developer and cluster
profiles only. There currently isn't a Sun JDK for AIX, so we had to
use the IBM JDK 5 on this platform also. It is possible that you could
take a promoted build of Glassfish V2UR for AIX and try to run it on
System Z with an IBM JDK5. Theoretically, I can't think of any reason
why it shouldn't work. That is, if IBM does have a jdk 5 for it and
there aren't different bugs in the System Z platform's JDK that were in
the AIX platform's JDK (we did hit a couple that needed to be worked
around).

Currently there are no plans to port the Enterprise profile which does
have some native dependencies.

Hope this helps...

Thanks - Mark
