I got it to deploy now. After stripping. I had forgotten to remove the
<transient name="model"/>
from orm.xml after removing the getModel/setModel accessors.

Now that I could deploy without error comes the tedious task of adding the accessors and methods that I've removed. And then we'll (hopefully) find which one is causing the problems.
