How did you try to launch the app?
Does your app display a GUI or does it send its output to System.out?
By default, System.out messages are not displayed anywhere, although you can changes some Java Web Start settings to alter that behavior.
The best next step is to turn on Java Web Start tracing. See the description near the end of this blog entry for the details:

Then try launching the app again. The blog describes where to look for the resulting trace file. That will contain any System.out messages you expect as well as any errors and stack traces that may be occurring.
