I think it would be great to have a DB-based Preferences API implementation a part of Glassfish. It would ofcourse need to be a part of the admin console as well.
This would allow parameterizeing components in runtime without having to:
* Repackage
* Redeploy
* Deploy new versions but still keep the configuration from previous versions
I know this is done in some Portal products, like Jetspeed2.
Does anyone see this as being useful for the roadmap of Glassfish?
