Here is the steps to turn on security for developer profile in Admin Console.
click on configuration->HTTP Service-> HTTP Listeners -> admin-listeners, then go to the SSL tab.
Select the first checkbox : Security Enabled.
Click Save.
The right frame shows that 'The connection was reset'.
You then go to change the URL to
https://<hostname>:4848 and you should be in the common task page again.
