OpenESB and GlassFish v3

Hi all,

In my current assignment we are designing a GlassFish and OpenESB
architecture for our customer. We prefer to use the latest stable
release of both GlassFish and OpenESB. The aim of the project will be to
have OpenESB running next to several JEE web applications in a clustered
environment with a load balancer. We already have another GlassFish v2
cluster running with OpenESB v2.x (not sure which version exactly) but
we have a few requirements that force us to rethink that architecture,
particularly on the JEE front.

Since OpenESB v3 has not been released yet and doesn't support
clustering (yet?), we will use OpenESB v2.2. We have several options
that I am investigating:

- Use GlassFish v2.1.1 so we can run both OpenESB and the JEE apps one
  the same servers
- Use GlassFish v2.1.1 for OpenESB and GlassFish v3 for the JEE apps
- Use GlassFish v3 for both OpenESB and the JEE apps

I have been trying to install OpenESB v2.2 on GlassFish v3 but I failed
to do so. The installer returns this error

readVersionFromJarFile: com.sun.appserv.server.util.Version is null

When I tried to install the Components for v2.2 I get similar errors.

My question is: is it possible (one way or another) to run OpenESB v2.2
on GlassFish v3? One way might be to install OpenESB on GlassFish v2.1.1
and take the installed files and directories and copy them to GlassFish
v3. I guess the answer is "no, this is not possible because the
GlassFish code has changed so much the OpenESB v2.2 won't be able to
deal with it" but I'd like to be sure.

Thanks, Wouter
