Thanks Felipe for filing this enhancement. I took a look at your bug
description, it is indeed a good
suggestion, you filed under doc sub category, let me check to get others
input:

(1) Do we current have some doc to cover the similar thing, we just need
to enhance it ?

(2) How about using update tool to do all these as suggested by Felipe ?

Thanks,
Judy

"Maven is one of most popular tools used to create Java EE applications and it is
based on lists of dependencies and its versions. From time to time, SUN releases
new versions of the dependencies and the developers are forced to update the
pom.xml files. Also new adopters of the Glassfish technologies usually get in
troubles trying to figure out the exactly versions to use in new project based
on Glassfish technologies.

My suggestion is to have in the Glassfish page a set of Maven Archetypes and
also a list of the latest (or recommended) dependencies versions - for all
Glassfish portfolio.

So, if I have an old project running on Glassfish I can go check that list about
the latest versions or if I will create a new one I can just generate a new
project module based on the recommended archetypes or just copy paste the
dependencies in the pom.xml of my new project.

A notification about the updating of this information is also useful, so I can
subscribe a mailig list or to follow a twitter channel to know every time a new
archetype or dependency version is published."
