No, it doesn't - at least not on my environment.
If have a parallel setup of V2.1 and v3. I just crosschecked again: it
doesn't happen on v2.1, which is using TopLink.

I'm on Oracle 10g (10.2.0.4.0 - 64bit), indeed. So EclipseLink isn't
autodetecting the version correctly, but Toplink (v2.1) does.
