Thanks for your alternate option. In my case, I have skipped the
installation using the installer and use the .zip file of the latest build
instead in order to run the latest GlassFish v3 build.

Hi Karen,
You got the exact same problem as me. It was when the installation said
"configuring update tool bootstrap." This bug is similar to the issue
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=5830. However, here is
a workaround I found.
1. First, you have to clean up all the GlassFish folder manually.
2. Install GlassFish-b44 as you want but unmark all the configuration about
update tool. The installation should be done properly
<<< if you are not testing update tool, below steps are not needed >>>
3. Execute <GlassFish_Installed_Folder>\bin\updatetool.bat
4. The command dialog will popup and ask you to install update tool
software. Then enter "Y".
5. When the installation finish, everything should be fine.

Hi all,
I was not able to install build 44 in Windows Vista at all. I would like to
know if anybody has the same problem as me. It may be related to the issue
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=7638 but have
different result.
1. first install halts at 41% (I have waited at least 10 mins or more).
After pressing cancel, Windows Vista prompts a dialog telling that the
software might not have installed correctly. I chose to tell Vista that
"This program is installed correctly" to avoid further triggering of
installation process.
2. 2nd install: run the installer without computer restarts, the progress
halts at 75% (I have waited at least 10 mins). Cancel the install. There
is an uninstall executable in the install folder. Try to uninstall the
glassfish with it, but all buttons in the uninstallation screen are in
disabled status.
3. manually removed the glassfish folder and restart the computer
4. do the installation again, same problems occurs as in step 1 and step 2.
Environment:
- Windows Vista Home Premium SP 1
- JAVA_HOME pointing to the jdk installation folder with version 1.6.0_12
- glassfish v3 prelude was installed previously but has been uninstalled
with the uninstaller and with the glassfishv3-prelude folder manually
removed after the uninstallation. The computer have also been restarted
after the removal of the folder.
