Do you install b44 at the same location where you install b42 ?
If you run bin/updatetool,  what does it show you ?

 Operating System Windows XP Media Center Edition Service Pack 3
Internet Browser: IE8 or Mozilla
In Admin GUI,
1) Enter Admin GUI
2) Click on "There are 26 update(s) available"
3) No available Updates, the attached update displays the available updates.

Is this a bug?
