Hi Eduardo,
Some background about this project:
SDN China had organized some activities for Java Teacher Training in
China (
http://www.qyjohn.net/?p=350) in Aug this year.
We got strong request from teachers to write a book for University Java
Teaching. Although there are many books for Java Teaching in China, but
most of them had not been updated for a long time, and they can not
bring enough help for student to find good job for Java. That's why we
want to write this books for University Java teaching.
We also organized a survey among 300 University teachers, The feedback
is quite positive, so we decide to start.
We plan to write 2 books at first, one for Java SE, another is for Java
EE. The books will introduce Java technology based on samples, the
basic environment is Java SE 5 + NetBeans + GlassFish V2.
Now there are 4 engineers(all of them are from SUN ERI
http://cn.sun.com/eri/English/index.html), 1 publisher, and about 5-10
teachers who would put their efforts for this project.
We want to leverage Java.net to develop our sample code for the book,
and will ask our readers to participate in this project to make the code
strong and popular...
Thanks,
Jim
