I found that the current JAXP 1.3 RI doesn't support "format-pretty-print" in LSSerializer.
Although this enhancement has been already reported as the link '
https://jaxp.dev.java.net/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=6',
the enhancement patches (for Java SE 5 (JAXP 1.3 RI), for Java SE 6 (JAXP 1.4 RI)) are not applied yet.
I hope these patches would be as soon as possible. These patches enable you to turn on the parameter on Java SE 5 and SE 6.
I can see these enhancement patches are already applied in Apache Xerces project.
