Q: I need to get the full path for an executable file. I know it is
somewhere in the user's path. It has to handle the fact that on
UNIX/LINUX the path is PATH and on Windows it can be either Path or
PATH or both. Once it gets that path variable it needs to go
through all of the elements -- IN ORDER -- to find the executable.
If it finds it it needs to verify that it is executable AND that the
user has permission to run it.
Whew! And I want to do it in ONE LINE of code. How to do that?

Q: I have the path to a File. I want to read it in to a String. I
don't want to add a dozen lines of try/catch/finally boilerplate.
Do I want a buffered reader? Should it be an InputStream? Oh I
forget. Where can I copy and paste a dozen lines of code from? Or
-- can I do this with ONE LINE of code?

Q: Why am I writing this ugly line of code over and over and over
and over and over again? Is there a better way?
if(str != null && str.length() > 0)
