I was caught by the daylight savings yesterday too.
We didn't have a chance to go over specifically the schema2beans ques today.
Jerome did give a nice overview of Configuration in v3. I don't think
we're using schema2beans anywhere? v3 config uses hk2 DOM and
specialized config api for domain.xml. It is made thread-safe with the
use of translated views (non-writeable) vs writeable views. You can see
slides 16-32 from the email he sent earlier.
