[connector-spec-users] [jsr322-experts] Password alias feature deferred to the next release (WAS: Fwd: [javaee-spec users] [jsr342-experts] Re: password aliasing proposal)

Hello

It appears that the password alias that was planned for EE 7 is deferred
until EE 8. So, sadly, I will remove the spec changes in 5.3.7.4 and
20.5.4 that were around this feature in the next draft.

I shall defer our JIRA issue [1] for a future Connectors release.

Thanks
--Siva.

The password alias work turned out to be more complex than expected,
and internal resource issues have prevented us from completing it.
This work was further complicated by the need to interact with the
JDK team for PKCS#12 support; as you might imagine the JDK team is
currently busy with other security issues.

We're going to need to defer this work until Java EE 8.

Sorry.
