How to Create a Text Template

To work through this example, you must have completed the example Create a category.

Select Start> Text Management> Template
The mask Text Template is opened.

To change to Insert mode click .

Enter the following data in the respective fields:

Field name	Description	Data
Template Id.	Is the unique key for identifying the text template.	TXT-001
Main Category Id	Category to group text templates/instances	BOM
Description	Additional information about the text template.	Text Template for defining cable color.
Template	Template text - see Note for further information.	Verify the cable with <A: color/> color

The placeholder values are defined when deriving a text instance. Placeholders have the following syntax <[placeholder-id]:[placeholder name]/>.

You can also define text template without placeholders.

To save the entry click .

Click on the Place Holders tab, the placeholder A:color was entered.
