Using the field-dirty-flag you mark a field after changing its content in update mode of mask edit state via userexits. DataView only evaluates the field-dirty-flag after update operations when storing records. If the field-dirty-flag is set, DataView will write the updated field contents back into the data base.
The dirty flag always applies to all field contents of a column record buffer. So if you changed the contents of a field for several records in lists, you will have to set the dirty flag for the field only once.
