Document Management Module
Introduction
The Document Management Module allows non-technical users to add information
to the product record or to make qualified decisions based on it.
The
information in this documentation can be applied on the Java and Web
client. The Manager Information can only be applied on the Java client.
The design has adopted familiar concepts of the Windows operating system the
user is already familiar with:
- The internal browser provides a hierarchical structure of projects, sub-projects
and specific "document folders" - similar to the directory structure
of the operating system.
- An "Element List", that shows detailed information of the current
browser entry and its structure, can be opened via the context menu.
- The element list provides a context menu and allows direct access to the
corresponding mask via a hyperlink.
This design allows users an easy use of centralized document management functionalities.
Check-in and check-out functions have been designed to support daily operations,
such as:
- Single files or complete directories can be uploaded via drag&drop to
the element list, making de-centralized data migration easy.
- Project hierarchies or document structures can be downloaded from the browser
to a local directory structure to make this data available offline.
The standard browser tabs and can still be used.
