How to Create an Enumeration Circle with Variable Ranges (Incrementing Characters and Digits)

 

What to do:
You need to be logged in with manager privileges in order to be able to work through this example.
Select Manager > Tools > Number Server
The mask Enumeration Variants is opened.
Change to Insert mode with the button .
Enter ART-NR-3 in the Number Variant field.
Enter Example Item ID - variable range in the Comment field.
Enter 10 in the Step field.
Enter 000AAA00 in the Cur.no. field.
Enter 000AAA00 in the Minimum field.
Enter 900ZZZ90 in the Maximum field.
Enter 900ZZZ50 in the Alarm number field.
Save the entry with the button .
Switch to the list in the lower part of the mask.
Change to Insert mode with the button .
Enter 1 in the Column field.
Enter 3 in the Width field.
Click in the Text field. You should now see a big hash sign. Whenever you click the field, the little dot becomes a hash sign and vice versa.
Click in the Text field. You should now see a big hash sign. Whenever you click the field, the little dot becomes a hash sign and vice versa.
Enter 0-9 in the Value range field.

Repeat steps 12 through 17 two times with the following values.

Column 4 7
Width 3 2
Text "big hash sign" "big hash sign"
Length "big hash sign" "big hash sign"
Value range A-Z 0-9

  • The first ID is "000AAA00", the following IDs will be "000AAA10" to "000AAA90", then "000AAB00" etc. until "000ZZZ90" is reached. The next ID after that is "001AAA00".
  • Once the number "990ZZZ50" has been reached, a system message is displayed on the screen.
  • Since you have defined a cyclic count, the first number after 990ZZZ90" will be "000AAA00".
