Create a subordinate Project

As a prerequisite for this example, you must have completed the examples Create a Project Manager and Create a top-level Project!

Log in to Agile e6 as USER-1 and select Job-1 as the current/active job.

Select Start > Projects.
The Projects mask is opened.

Search for Project-1.

To change to insert mode click .

In the Project Number field enter Project-2.

In the Name field enter Electronics.

To save the entry click .

Repeat steps 4 - 7 and enter the following values:

Project No.	Name
Project-3	Mechanics
Project-4	Locking System

Subordinate projects are created for the top-level project Project-1.

When creating projects as a project manager, the projects created will be automatically identified as subprojects of the currently activated project!

To create further subordinate project structures (e.g. a subproject for Project-4) the following prerequesites need to be fulfilled:

A user with manager privileges (EDB-PRJ-MNG) must be assigned to Project-4 via a job function (e.g. Job-4)
This user must select Project-4 (respectively Job-4) as the current project when logging in to Agile e6

Since it is not possible to create subprojects via the Insert button on the Structure tab, it is recommended to remove this button and respective selections in order to avoid a wrong usage!
